SKI TOURING AND FREERIDING
ENJOY THE FREEDOM OF BACKCOUNTRY IN SÖLDEN
When the mountains around Sölden are covered in thick, fresh snow, you just want to be the first one out there skiing the pristine powder slopes. Be aware: If you’d like to venture onto higher altitude, you’ll need a guide. Glaciers may only be crossed roped up and as part of a team. We, Lukas and Bernadette, are well trained in evaluating the weather and avalanche forecast. We’ll be happy to advise you.
We’ll also give you tips on where to go based on the current conditions. And we’ll help you out with equipment, if needed.
In the Ötztal and Stubai Alps there are numerous ski tours, loops and treks with all levels of difficulties for athletes or families. Some even have mountain inns that offer delicous Austrian meals. Freeriders will be thrilled by the more than 70 kilometers of off-piste routes open from November to May. Just a short lift ride, and you’ll be standing amidst the ultimate backcountry of Sölden.
Be careful! Even if you “just” go freeriding, you’ll have to be safe, informed and prepared.
